The JanusRAID SA-4378S is an innovative new storage solution that utilizes a PCI-Express bus for data transfers enabling enormous bandwidth with little overhead. The SA-4378S features eight disk drives in a 2U rack mount chassis with redundant hot swappable power supplies and fans.
The JanusRAID SA-4378S is a single controller, PCI-Express to SATA-II RAID system. In a compact 2U - 8 bay chassis, featuring hot-swappable power supplies and fans. The fans, and power supplies are modularized allowing for easy removal from the rear of the unit. Also featuring a our new GUI application, RAIDGuard X, that enables easy configuration and monitoring. - Innovative Technology
This new storage technology only utilizies the PCI Express bus, enabling greater bandwidth capabilites. There is no conversion to fibre channel, SCSI, or SAS, which helps reduce communication overhead to increase response and decrease latency. By connecting storage directly to a PCI Express bus provides huge bandwidth. The current support is x4 PCI Express that enables bandwidth of up to one gigabyte per second (1000 MB/s). - Reliable Storage
The JanusRAID SA-4378S natively supports RAID 6 which provides double parity for greater reliability over RAID 5 which only supports single parity. There are several functions implemented which can also increase data integrity, such as Refresh Array Data and Parity which can search for and repair corrupted data sectors while the unit remains online and in-production. - Cross Platform Support
The JanusRAID SA-4378S has drivers available for Windows, Linux, and Mac to ensure that this product is compatible with various different platforms. Windows drivers include StorPort support, a new requirement for Windows Vista, which enhances performance and improves reliability. - RAIDGuard X
RAIDGuard X is a java-based management tool making it easy to install on a wide variety of operating systems. RAIDGuard X provides users the ability to configure, monitor in real-time, and run maintenance tools. RAIDGuard X provides real-time status monitoring and notification.
- Disk Lag Proof Technology
Disk Lag Proof Technology ensures a steady and reliable data stream by neutralizing unpredictable error prone disk. Disk Lag Proof Technology will stabilize erratic or fluctuating data streams caused by instable malfunctioning disks.
- On-The-Fly RAID Initialization
On-the-Fly initialization provides users immediate access to the data volume during the initialization process. This feature significantly decreases the amount of downtime experienced with traditional initialization.
- Online Array Roaming
The task of swapping drives between units can be accomplished with the unit powered on and online. The Online Array Roaming function will recognize and identify previous arrays and automatically import RAID configurations. This process can be completed using RAIDGuard X.
- Online Array Recovery
In an event when multiple drive failures occurred, the Online Array Recovery feature is able to restore corrupted RAID configurations, and begin disk rebuilding. This process can be completed using RAIDGuard X.
- Snapshot Technology
To further increase data protection mirror snapshot with full-volume copy has been implemented. A maximum of 8 shots are supported, and can be easily configured and scheduled using RAIDGuard X.
- Health Center
Three functions arevailable to maintain your data's health, which are Verify Parity, Rebuild Parity, and Refresh Data and Parity. Verify parity will read through data to ensure that all data and parity stripes are useable. Rebuild Parity will regenerate all parity. Lastly Refresh Data and Parity will read through to find corrupted parity and regenerate it from good data.
- Dual Flash ROM
Dual Flash ROM per controller gives higher RAID system availability and reliability during firmware upgrading or in the event of a single ROM failure.
- Support for greater than 2TB LUN
The JanusRAID2 series natively supports 16byte CDB to allow for easy creation of LUNs greater than 2 terabytes.
